Karlsruhe is not just the home of Wibu-Systems, one of the world’s leading pioneers for software protection, licensing, and security. The city in Germany’s Rhine valley is recognized nationwide as a hothouse for digital talent. With numerous tech-centric research and teaching institutions, including the famous Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, training over 40,000 young experts, Karlsruhe has established a buzzing homegrown IT and digital arts and sciences scene. On 1 July 2022, the karlsruhe.digital initiative is celebrating that community with a special night of events and tours at the city’s many digital enterprises, institutions, and event spaces.
As a proud member of that community, Wibu-Systems will be out in force for the occasion. The company is welcoming talented young professionals and visitors to its new head office on Zimmerstrasse 5, joined for the night by the IT Security Club in the neighboring House of IT Security. The event will start at 4 pm (repeated at 6 pm) with a tour of the company’s high-security production facilities for its CodeMeter security hardware. Visitors will learn lots about the challenging world of cybersecurity. Two special workshop sessions at 5 pm and 7 pm will invite visitors to dig deeper and find out more about cryptography and digitization as well as secure software development. The tours will end on the company’s roof terrace, where visitors can take in the sights at the new Wibu-Systems campus. The campus itself is not just a sign of Wibu-Systems’ commitment to its hometown of Karlsruhe, but also an expression of modern concepts of workplace design and collaboration at work.
The IT Security Club is opening its doors to prospective members and tenants and the general public with two introductory talks about the services available to members and a chance to tour the facilities and experience what goes on in this unique space dedicated to all things IT security. Between 4 and 8 pm, visitors can find out more about the work of the IT Security Club’s very own innovation manager and the invaluable help this service offers for finding partners and funding for cybersecurity ventures. At 6 pm, all attention will be focused on the facilities, work spaces, and opportunities to work at the IT Security Club. With so much of IT security happening away from the public eye because of the confidential and sensitive nature of the work, Wibu-Systems’ decision to get involved and open its doors for Karlsruhe’s Colorful Night of Digitization is an opportunity not to be missed.
