Hannover, Germany

Hannover Messe, the world’s leading event for industrial intelligent technology, is returning with more than 500 exciting use cases from industrial pioneers coming from 75 different countries. This year, the panel includes 80 forums and conferences addressing Industrie 4.0, machine learning, artificial intelligence, 5G, and smart grids.

The rising tide of connected devices that characterizes the IIoT exacerbates the need for new endpoint security solutions embedded by design and offered to customers by default. Follow all of Wibu-Systems’ initiatives, as we raise awareness for the opportunity to achieve superior business and technology performance through stronger encryption and highly flexible go-to-market strategies.

The place to be is our booth C15 in hall 6, situated at the core of the Digital Factory area. Our secure licensing experts are available on site to assist you along the redesign journey for your business models and the integration path to a modern, compact, and personalized security backbone.

What are the major news from Wibu-Systems?

At Hannover Messe, we are announcing three main novelties:

  • CodeMeter TMR Server: Guaranteeing optimum availability, while keeping a strict count of the purchased licenses, is a constant cause for friction between software makers and their users. With the Triple Mode Redundancy system, Wibu-Systems has a solution to this conundrum e.g. for industrial users that work without disclosing license calls and without having to rely on trust alone.
A TMR group consists of a total of five servers, typically operated as virtual machines. The downstream interface with the clients is provided by a double TMR server that the clients can access via a virtual IP address. The TMR server creates the virtual CodeMeter license containers and the TMR licenses within them, based on the CodeMeter license containers kept on the three upstream CodeMeter servers.
  • CmCloud: Maximum security, interoperability, scalability, and modularity are a must for the complete CodeMeter infrastructure. The mature and 100% cloud-based infrastructure we have created was designed with these four principles in mind.
ISVs and IDMs that are active in spaces such as industrial automation, vision, engineering, automotive, artificial intelligence, but even gaming and education can freely assign their licenses to hardware, software, or cloud containers. By choosing this new smart licensing system for smart IIoT devices, edge computing, PLCs, and PCs, they can operate even more efficiently: no local license containers they have to distribute, update, replace, maintain as all licenses and keys are stored in the cloud; no access to the cloud without highly secured credentials; and easier and faster license usage tracking and billing.
  • CmStick/D series: Fulfilling all possible market requests and providing the largest ever hardware product lineup for secure license management is a promise we take very seriously, as can be seen in our new range of dongles for USB-C ports.
Just like we did for the CmStick/B array, this set includes three variants: CmStick/DMC, which comes with MLC flash memory, CmStick/DMI, which integrates pseudo-SLC flash memory, and CmStick/D, without any additional flash memory. All three keep the same size ratio, elegant design, and robust housing beloved in the CmStick/B series. To protect the USB type-C connector itself, they are sold with a custom cap.

Meet us in person at the Hannover Messe

At the 2019 edition of the Hannover Messe, Oliver Winzenried, CEO and founder of Wibu-Systems, will be holding three separate lectures:

  • On April 2nd, 10.30 to 10.50 am, at the Forum Industrial Security, in Hall 6, booth F03, he will be speaking about Data and Software Licensing in the Cloud – Scalable and Secure: In the current scenario, software licensing makes use of local storage of licenses on the user’s side, in a separate hardware secure element like a dongle or in the target device with a secure file associated with the device’s digital fingerprint. Storing licenses in the cloud offers complete independence from any specific device or software, great scalability, and total protection with sophisticated crypto operations, fast performance, and detailed reporting capabilities.
  • On April 4th, 10.00 to 10.30 am, at the Forum Industrie 4.0, in Hall 8, Stand D17, he will be discussing Protection of Intellectual Property in Data and Software in Machines and Devices: Production data, e.g. 3D printing data, machine configurations, or software in PLCs, contains more and more intellectual property with each passing day. Protecting this IP is paramount for companies and manufacturers alike. With tools that are advanced, yet simple to use and integrate like CodeMeter, it is possible to safeguard these intellectual assets and leverage the full know-how commercially through digital marketplaces and versatile business models.
  • If you missed the above, you still have a chance to hear more about Protection of Intellectual Property in Data and Software in Machines and Devices, on April 4th, 1.00 to 1.20 pm, at the Forum Industrial Security, in Hall 6, booth F03

On April 1st, at 1 pm, Oliver Winzenried will reveal all of the details about CmCloud, our latest groundbreaking innovation in software license management. He will cover the unique features that make this new technology stand out in the global market, the main working principles combining high backend sophistication with frontend ease of use, the pivotal security highlights of this solution, the scalability and modularity concepts underpinning the complete CodeMeter portfolio, the enthusiastic feedback from our pilot users, and all of the commercial information that software publishers and intelligent device manufacturers need to include this module into their licensing design schemes.
