My CmActLicense license has become invalid after I updated Windows 10. Why and what can I do?

Most likely, you performed the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. The Anniversary Update, seen from a technical point, is an initial installation of the operating system providing an automatic backup to transfer programs, data and settings from the old into the new installation. However, this procedure may cause issues. In our case, not all necessary data for CmActLicense licenses has been automatically included.

For repairing the CmActLicense license, please proceed as follows:

• Install CodeMeter Version 6.30d or higher.

The version reconstructs missing data from the backup of the old installation and automatically repairs invalid licenses. Please note, that this procedure works only, if you checked the option to agree to the transfer of user data on performing the Anniversary Update.
