Live demonstration of industrial security applications at the RSA Conference 2016

Wibu-Systems, a global leader for the protection, licensing and security of digital assets and know-how, will participate in a security demonstration organized by the Trusted Computing Group at the RSA Conference, San Francisco, CA, February 29 – March 4, 2016. The “Securing the Internet of Things with Trusted Computing” event will be held on February 29, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm PST. The session will include a short update on the evolution of trusted computing and the Internet of Things, three panels with IoT and security experts, and several demonstrations of trusted computing applied to today’s IoT and enterprise security challenges.

During the session, Wibu-Systems and Infineon Technologies will present a demonstration on “IP Protection and Flexible Licensing Applied to TPM Connected Devices” that will show how to protect an application against reverse engineering and counterfeiting while licensing several individual features of the application. The demonstration will showcase Wibu-Systems CodeMeter technology, the all-in-one platform for secured licensing and the protection of IP and production data for intelligent manufacturing, and Infineon’s SLE 97 security hardware.

In addition to protecting the application, the demonstration will illustrate the binding of a protected license to an Infineon OPTIGA™ TPM 2.0 in the target system, and the seamless integration of the license creation and deployment workflow into existing business processes (e.g. ERP systems or e-commerce platforms).

“Security by design is a priority in the deployment of connected devices in the emerging IoT,” said Marcellus Buchheit, CEO and President of Wibu-Systems USA. “Our goal is to provide the development community with technology that will safeguard these globally connected devices, systems and data as well as implement flexible license lifecycle management and software entitlement. We are pleased to collaborate with other security minded organizations, like Infineon, to accomplish these goals.”

Wibu-Systems is a member of the Infineon Security Partner Network (ISPN), a select group of security experts whose mission is to make proven semiconductor-based security easily accessible to the growing number of manufacturers of connected devices and systems.

“With almost 30 years of experience delivering security solutions and with over two billion security controllers already shipped to the market, Infineon is a global leader in hardware-based security, and the natural choice of partner for IoT applications. We are pleased to collaborate with Wibu-Systems to develop a demonstration that leverages our proven OPTIGA™ TPM that will be showcased by the Trusted Computing Group at the RSA Conference,” said Joerg Borchert, VP of Infineon Americas Chip Card and Security business.
