Why can I not activate licenses using Internet Explorer and I receive the error message "0x18088002"?
This behavior occurs on license activation using Internet Explorer, if the latest CodeMeter Version 5.10a is installed and WebSocket-based WebDepots are used. A connection to the WebSockets cannot be established.
This is because the mapping of security zones in Internet Explorer does not support the communication in principle.
Please use one of the following alternatives as workaround:
Use another browser.
Use ActiveX for activating licenses.
Ensure that the addresses "localhost" or "127.0.0.1" are located in the same security zone as WebDepot. Typically, this is done in the proxy exception settings.
