T4M, the newest medical technology trade show, is opening its doors for the first time this year and will run in parallel with Control, the international quality assurance trade fair. The exhibition focuses on production technology, production environments and services as well as components and materials in the healthcare space; it is thus sure to attract the entire medical device supply industry, including complementary service providers in the field.

The forums on regulatory affairs like the European Medical Devices Regulation (MDR), Unique Device Identification (UDI), additive manufacturing, medical electronics, cleaning technology, the digitalization of medical devices, business models, and business processes, and components and materials for medical devices will provide additional impulse for productive debates.

On May 8th, 11.30 am to 12.00 pm, Oliver Winzenried, CEO of Wibu-Systems and member of the board of directors of the Medical Technology working group of VDMA (the German engineering federation), will hold an inspiring lecture on "How medical device manufacturers combine security with new business models.". In his talk, he will elaborate on how the ever greater network of connected medical devices makes security a must-have in the units themselves to prevent tampering with configuration data and secure the confidentiality and integrity of patients’ records. New business models are the additional benefit out of the equation. They create a win-win-win opportunity for device manufacturers, operators, and patients.

You can find Wibu-Systems’ exhibit at the VDMA Medical Technology space (hall 9, booth B24), an area that brings together highly qualified vendors dedicated to serving the entire value chain. The collaboration of all healthcare engineering stakeholders offers an important stimulus for more dialogue and new synergies.

At our exhibit, you can see CodeMeter, our flagship technology for medical digitalization, in action. Each flavor of CodeMeter serves a different range of devices; the constellation as a whole is fully compatible not just with each hardware and software component used, but also and crucially with established back office systems. You can retrofit your medical devices with hardware secure elements, implement cutting-edge protection and security mechanisms for software, firmware, and data, and generate new revenue streams on modern digital platforms.
