An error occurred while installing CodeMeter Runtime on a Windows system. What should I do?


To detect and solve potential installation errors, we require the logfiles.

These automatically created logfiles should be sent to support(at) Please proceed as follows:

  • Open Windows Explorer.
  • Type in %temp% in the upper search bar.
    The directory %\Users%\...\AppData\Local\Temp opens.
    • Find the log files.
      [application name]_v[versionnumber incl. build]_[Installation ID].log and/or [application name]_v[version number incl. build]_[Installation IDn]_[Name of Module to be installed].log.
      Note: If MSI logging is activated in the registry, then an arbitrary name for the MSI installation module logfile is created.
    • Send the log files.
