Why can I not see my CmDongle as a drive on Windows?

This may have several reason:

  • Windows assigns drive letters to mass storage devices, e.g. CmDongles, that follow directly to the permanent drives (hard disk, CDROM). If the next drive letter is already assigned to a network drive, the mass storage device can not be listed. To recognize the CmDongle as a drive, you need to reassign your network drives to letters that do not conflict with the mass storage devices. Please choose a drive letter at the end of the alphabet.
  • Access to mass storage devices might also be restricted on your system. To check whether this is the case, please create a CmDust diagnosis file (How do I create a CmDust file?) and send it to Wibu-Systems support.
