Virtual Event

With the ongoing crisis still forcing the expo industry to forego in-person events, the organizers of the popular Embedded World exhibition and conference have pulled out all the stops to make this year’s virtual incarnation, embedded world DIGITAL, a rewarding and instructive opportunity for all participants. With industry-leading names topping its partner list and dozens of exhibitors already registered, the digital expo promises a technically advanced and comfortable virtual attendance experience with digital booths and conferences to meet up remotely with experts and peers in the field and see what is happening in the embedded technology scene.

Wibu-Systems is returning to Embedded World in its digital form as part of its long-standing partner Infineon’s dedicated Embedded Solutions Conference, a five-day program jam-packed with more than 100 expert talks and product presentations ranging from smart homes, smart cars, and smart things to smart factories and data infrastructures. For the ESC’s Smart Factory Day on March 4th, Stefan Bamberg, Senior Key Account and Partner Manager, will take to the virtual stage 9.10 am to 9.30 CET am and 4.40 pm to 5.00 pm CET with a talk on “Who is this? The Problem with Secure Communication in the IIoT”. It is an issue that could not be more topical as the entire world has, by force of circumstance, become familiar with remote work and connected ecosystems. Already a well-established theory and increasingly actual practice in industrial manufacturing under the monikers Industry 4.0 or the IIoT, this means massive numbers of industrial devices working and communicating with each other, often distributed across the world. This creates an inherent challenge that must be solved first to guarantee lasting success: How to make sure that only authorized devices are allowed to exchange data with other authorized devices or gateways and avoid man-in-the-middle attacks or tampering with sensitive data? Stefan Bamberg’s presentation shows CodeMeter Certificate Vault, the standard OPC UA-proven solution, based on a secure CodeMeter hardware anchor, powered with Infineon technology, that gives each device a unique and immediately verifiable identity.
